The original Saegake MIDGE DIRECTION, born from Haruhiko Murakami’s concept of “Fuwa fishing” (delicate, weightless presentation), evolved into the Saegake LEVEL DIRECTION. Now, Murakami has taken these techniques and adapted them to modern fishing styles, creating a rod that anyone can handle with ease.

Based on the full-tubular taper balance of the original MIDGE DIRECTION, this model has been extended by 6 inches to improve castability. By giving it a power level comparable to the LEVEL DIRECTION, it achieves precise line slack control with the characteristic tubular tip of the MIDGE DIRECTION, even at long distances.

The result is a new-generation “Fuwa fishing” rod that offers a unique feel — distinct from both the original MIDGE DIRECTION and the LEVEL DIRECTION.
